The creepy masks aren't the only thing the two villains have in common. Did Luthor's face become disfigured just like Jack's? Not only that, but Lex also wears a mask to hide his true face. It also shields him from his more illicit activities of looting and robbing other worlds of all their resources, much like Handsome Jack did with Pandora. However, the people of Lexor see him as their great hero and benefactor, and it's largely due to the massive propaganda machine Luthor has running non-stop.

He then became the main antagonist of Borderlands 2. In the Borderlands series, Handsome Jack took over the Hyperion Corporation, becoming the de facto ruler of the planet Pandora. Additionally, Luthor also looks to carry the same ego and motivations as well, robbing entire planets of their resources in order to generate profit, prosperity, and power for his own gain. For some reason, Lex Luthor is wearing a mask resembling his own face, much like the mask Jack himself wears.
